The frosted gilt bar movement jewelled to the third, with bimetallic balance and lever escapement, rare stem winding system, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, blued steel hands, in plain hunter case with hinged cuvette, with extract from the maker's archives dated May 1998 stating that this watch was made in March 1890, case, dial and movement signed

The winding system of this watch is a variation of the design by O. Courvoisier, English patent number 1114 of 1873. An illustration of the original design is shown in Patek Philippe by Martin Huber and Alan Banbery, Verlag Peter Ineichen, 1982, pp. 122, fig. 43b.
