etching, 1887, on laid paper with a crowned Coat of Arms watermark, first state (of two), a fine impression, signed in pencil, inscribed 'no 45', from the edition of 100, published in L'Estampe Originale, by A. Marty, Paris, with the blindstamp L. 819 (there were about twelve further lifetime proofs in the second state and 50 posthumous impressions), with wide margins, very pale discoloration towards the sheet edges, discoloration on the reverse, a crease at the left sheet corner, generally in good condition
