Circular, the rim chased and engraved with oak leaves on pellet ground applied at intervals with eight rectangular plaques with pellet decoration of stippled ground set with cabochon stones, within reed border, the outer decorated with pellet decoration at intervals, the the centre applied with the crowned Cyrillic initials 'V M' and the date '20 Apr[il] 1908', the base engraved with 'God's blessings on you my darling children Your own loving Aunty Petersburg' imitating the writing of the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna, white metal, marked on base

A wedding gift to Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna, born 6/18 April 1890, died 13 December 1958, the grand-daughter of Alexander II through his third son Paul and his wife Alexandra Georgievna of Greece, who married William (Vil'gelm in Russian), Prince of Sweden and Duke of Södermanland, born 17 June 1884, died 5 June 1965. They had one child and were divorced on 17 March 1914.
