Lot Essay

The dog 'Flame' is purported to be a pointer belonging to King Edward VII, however the Royal Archives have no record of a dog of this name.

Similar sepia guilloché enamel painted plaques of views of Sandringham are found in the collection of Her Majesty the Queen at Sandringham and of views of Bangkok in the collection of His Majesty the King of Thailand in Bangkok. All the frames are made by Henrik Wigström, and are extremely rare on the market.
