Decorated in gold and silver hiramakie on a roironuri ground and inlaid in aogai, the cover with various panels shaped as a central stylised flower within four lozenges, filled with geometric and floral patterns including scrolling karakusa, hanabishi, shippo, chrysanthemums and maple trees, the reverse with butterflies flying over sprays of chrysanthemum, the front similarly decorated fitted with a drawer decorated with long tailed birds among scrolling foliage, the sides with panels depicting maple trees, bellflowers, camellias and scrolling karakusa, with copper kanagu and handles, some old damage, hinges replaced
