Engraved frontispiece to vol.I, folding map of the course of the Thames, 76 hand-coloured aquatint plates by J.C.Stadler after Joseph Farington, three folding. (General title to vol.I and dedication leaf with old creasing, small repaired hole affecting image of one of the folding plates, some light offsetting of text onto about 20 plates.) Modern green morocco gilt, g.e., by Bayntun.

A generally fine copy with wide margins. The work was intended to be part of a much larger undertaking which would include similar works on the Severn, the Clyde and the Forth. Only the Thames section was ever published. Abbey Scenery 432. (2)
