The rotary-underlever with slide-and-tilt opening action, recessed action-face, rebounding sidelocks, percussion fences, the action-body, lockplates and furniture profusely engraved with scrolling acanthus leaves, with traces of hardening-colour, boldly-figured stock with semi-pistolgrip, carved horn pistolgrip-cap and extension, the browned fine damascus barrels with matt-rib, open-sight and reversed chokes

The gun has a most unusual configuration. The combination of extremely short barrels, exceptional manoeuvreability, shot or ball facility, open-sight and the matt anti-glare finish applied to the rib would indicate a tropical use and the gun was almost certainly built for use on crocodiles
