Lot Essay

Thomas Turner was famous for his lightweight guns which included both the 'Featherweight' and 'Levissimus' designs and he had this to say about his patent 'Attachable Muzzle':- "Guns fitted with this invention can be converted from cylinder to choke bore, or vice versa, in one minute, while in the field. The muzzle can be easily carried in the waistcoat pocket, a sportsman is then as well off as if he had two guns with him, one for close and the other for wild shooting"
