Fiona Rae's paintings are a terrain of carefully controlled chaos. Shapes, textures and bursts of colour are assembled against a neutral background, creating a restless collage of activity. Throughout her paintings there is a feeling of timelessness as if all the activity will continue to glide, swirl and pop on and off the canvas.
