BURR, AARON, Vice-President. Autograph letter signed, Albany, 5 July 1783. 3 pages, 4to, slight staining. Fine. WINE AND THE BIRTH OF A DAUGHTER. An unusually early letter of Burr, who had served in the Revolution, married the widow of a British officer a year earlier and begun to practice law in New York. He passes on news of friends and announces the birth of his daughter, Theodosia: "...Mrs. Burr presented me a sweet little Girl. This apologises for all our neglect. Mrs. Burr gains strength very fast... The wine came safe. We cannot sufficiently thank for your Punctuality -- The Wine is very genuine and passes with our connoisseurs for old Madeira...Permit me again to request a visit -- Mrs. Burr will soon be well -- we flatter ourselves we can make a few days agreeable to you in Albany..."
