A Staffordshire pearlware oviform jug
with a ribbed neck, leaf moulded handle and reeded lower section, painted with a vignette of horses and cart delivering barrels of ale to an inn, the landlord stands in the doorway, the reverse has figures carrying the empty barrels from a barn, in a rurla landscape, below a band of hops and barley, circa 1795 (minor cracks to rim and flakes) -- 17.8cm. high
