Lot Essay

"This rare conquistador spur was found on a ranch north of Las Cruses by Bonnie Amaral, a young American Indian girl. It is presumed to have come to the United States with the Coronado expedition which traveled that way in 1540 seeking the Seven Cities of Gold. A Spanish helmet of that same period was found in the same area." (Martin,pg. 52)
