A well presented fully rigged and planked model of the warship Sovereign of the Seas circa 1637
built by D. Hartley with bound masts, yards with foot ropes, standing and running rigging, anchors with bound wooden stocks, catheads, belaying rails and pins, gratings, bell and canopy, deck rails, companionways, capstan, bilge pumps, upper deck guns in carriages and many other details. The fully planked hull, with open gun ports, stern and quarter galleries and tourelles is finished in matt varnish and blue with much gold plated caryatid swag and armorial decoration -- 35 x 49in.
