Lot Essay

Based in Roanoke, Virginia, the Thaden-Jordan Furniture Corporation grew out of the industrial designer Herbert Von Thaden's experimentations with plywood during World War II. Operating from 1946 to 1951, the firm produced several noteworthy chair designs, including the renowned high-back recliner. cf.
