An unusual sampler worked in coloured silks and gilt metal threads, with a central column with bands of various stitches, flanked by examples of different techniques and motifs, including leather appliqué, guipure work, a parakeet and butterfly--15½ x 32½in. (39 x 81cm.), 1920s, slight staining
