The form of the above lot resembles the ice stands made by Minton for desserts and jelly in the 1860's, though from the decoration this example is for serving seafood.

formed with a shallow shell-moulded bowl supported by coral branches above three putti seated between scallop-shaped dishes above a deep circular bowl moulded with seaweed and shells, supported by three stylised dolphins, shape 3344, circa 1875 (damages and repairs) -- 43cm. high
