of urn-shaped form, each painted with panels of amourous couples in landscapes and signed P.Philippot, the reverse painted with a bouquet of flowers, the bowls applied with a gilt-metal pierced rim and a pair of mask handles, the domed covers painted with a band of roses beneath gilt-metal finials, on gilt-metal pedestal feet, the covers with painted blue interlaced 'L's' marks, late 19th century (slight wear) -- 29cm. high
