2 volumes, small 8°, half title in volume I, engraved frontispiece portrait of Fontaine, title vignettes and 80 plates after Eisen, 2 large vignettes and 60 culs-de-lampe, additional mounted portrait frontispiece of Fontaine in volume II (small hole and clean tear to margin of first title, lacking half title in vol. II, additional portrait almost detached, lower corner of a4 in vol. II torn away, clean long tear to I4 in vol. II, a few leaves lightly browned, lightly spotted, a few light stains), contemporary blind-stamped green calf, large gilt and a smaller black floral border on covers, fleur-de-lis, spines with lavish floral tooling in three compartments, red morocco lettering-pieces, inner dentelles (extremities lightly rubbed), marbled edges.
