with short everted necks and feet, painted and heavily gilt with shaped panels of warriors on pine strewn riverbanks and scholars and attendants reading scrolls on terraces, all on grounds of ho-o in flight and scattered flowerheads and leaves -- 7in. (17.8cm.) high, (one with small section broken and restuck to rim, gilt rubbing).
