painted and gilt with a central scene depicting the Death of Buddha with Buddha lying on a stone slab surrounded by maple trees and numerous mourners and animals, various Immortals amongst cloud scrolls watching on from above, all within a border of brocade designs, the underside with cyrysanthemum sprays -- 8½in. (21.5cm.) diam, signed Dai Nihon Senzan, (minor gilt rubbing).
