A 14-inch (35.5cm.) diameter terrestrial table globe made up of twelve colour lithographed gores and two polar calottes, the equatorial and prime meridian graduated in degrees, the ecliptic ungraduated, the oceans showing warm and cold ocean currents, steamship routes with ports of arrival and departure and journey time in days, and cable lines, the continents variously coloured and showing a wealth of physical and political information including railway lines and caravan routes, the North Pole with information such as Peary 6.IV.09 (some abrasions, crack to equator), the brass meridian half circle engraved on one side, raised on a turned mahogany column and plinth base -- 24¼in. (61.6cm) high

Paul Oestergaard (1873-1956) was the founder of the Columbus-Verlag globe company, so Peter may be either his brother or his son.
