A 20-inch (50.8cm.) diameter terrestrial globe made up of twelve coloured printed paper gores and two polar calottes, the equatorial and prime meridian graduated in degrees, the latter running through Paris, no ecliptic shown, the oceans with an analemma and showing warm and cold ocean currents, steamship routes labelled with ports and journey time in days, cable routes, areas of national possession, and islands with dates of discovery, the southern Pacific Ocean showing Limites des Glaces Flottantes en été, the continents variously coloured showing areas of national possession, labelled with projected and executed railways, caravan routes, cities, towns, rivers, marshes and mountains with height in feet (old abrasions, neat repairs) with stamped brass hour dial with numbers 1-12 twice and labelled morning, evening, midday and midnight in French and Spanish, the brass meridian circle and horizon ring each engraved on one side and divided in four quadrants, with four brass supports to baluster turned ebonized column with three outswept feet -- 39½in.(100.3cm.) high
