A Canton enamel European-subject egg-shaped box and hinged cover
with gilt-copper mounts, painted to the top with a seated figure holding a fruitspray beside a cupid among rockwork on a black ground, within a key-fret border, the underside with scrolling lotus on a yellow ground, the interior decorated with two panels depicting figures before buildings in mountainous river landscapes -- 2¾.in (7cm) wide, 18th Century, (small areas of restoration, old wear).
