An unusual Swiss miniature brass travel timepiece with date and night/day dial
no.601. late 19th century
The anglaise riche style case with fluted columns, with gilt mask to the white enamel Roman dial, blued hands, with subsidiary enamel dial below for day/night, the ring numbered 6-5 twice, in red for day and black for night, inscribed MIDI and MINUIT at each 12, flanked by alternately numbered date ring, the chapters divided by gilt spots for unmarked days, the single barrel movement with silvered platform with bimetallic balance to the lever escapement, the backplate inscribed No.601; with associated brown leather travel case
