The anglaise riche case with Corinthian columns and solid side panels overlaid with trellis masks pierced and engraved with panels of entwined mythical birds around central cherubic roundels, the conforming dial mask with entwined serpents and leaping hounds, with silvered Roman chapter ring, plain gilt centre with retail signature D.C. RAIT & SONS PARIS, blued hands, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to the bimetallic balance with lever escapement, strike on gong to the backplate stamped for E. Maurice & Co. and numbered 1736
