The case with three-quarter baluster columns to the angles and foliate mounts, on leaf cast toupie feet, with arched side panels and conforming rear door and dial, the plain gilt mask within an arcaded frame with engraved borders, the silvered Roman chapter ring with pierced mount to the centre, blued hands, with alarm ring below, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to the cut bimetallic balance with lever escapement, strike/repeat/alarm on two gongs to the backplate numbered 545

Lot Essay

With half hour sonnerie, the clock strikes grande sonnerie in passing, but only at the hour and half hour. It remains silent at the quarters; however, when it repeats it does so with both hours and quarters.
