An unusual French gilt and silvered brass striking carriage clock for the Turkish market

The case modelled as a mosque and cast in relief with arabesque designs, with crescent moon finial, the side panels and rear door centred by recessed mihrab designs, with conforming frame to the gilt-bordered silvered dial with Turkish chapters, gilt metal hands with star and crescent designs, the twin barrel movement with bimetallic balance to the lever escapement, strike on gong to the backplate numbered 599
