The anglaise riche case with spiral-twist Corinthian columns and with stepped inverted breakfront top and base, with ripple galleries, the porcelain side panels painted respectively with the figures of a lady and a gentleman in Renaissance costume against a background of hills and a castle, the gilt sky with jewelled decoration in quatreform designs, the white enamel Roman dial with Arabic five minutes and signed PARIS in the centre, blued moon hands, with alarm ring below, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to the bimetallic balance with lever escapement, strike/repeat/alarm on gong to the backplate numbered 95
