The case with broken arch pediment and turned finials to the hood, blind fret frieze (losses), outset columns, with three-quarter fluted pilasters flanking the trunk door with wavy top, on plinth with chamfered angles and later panel, on bracket feet, the 12in. (31cm.) square brass gilt brass dial with later cherub spandrels to the silvered chapter ring signed R. Hughes Chester, gilt painted centre with silvered subsidiary seconds and date rings, with falseplate to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, later seatboard; case with damages and associated to dial and movement, last quarter 18th century
