(2), three with photographers' printed paper advertising labels on backs of frames J. Court, Photographic Artist, High Street Southwold... and ....Dexter's Likeness Rooms, 2, Regent Street, Lynn...All Photographs warranted not to change color... ; two over-painted photographs, each approx. 8½ x 6½ in., one with photographers' credit label on verso Maull & Polyblank...187A Piccadilly..., additional labels attached with biographical details of sitter; a portrait on enamel, oval 2¼ x 2¾ in.; two opalotypes, 4 x 3 in. and 8 x 6 in., the latter hand-coloured and with photographers' credit Elliott & Fry on recto; and a vignetted gelatin silver print, 7½ x 5½ in. signed Lambert Weston, 39 Brompton Sq. Lot Essay

The ambrotypes include a large family group with mother, father and three children and a large study of a thatched, weather-boarded cottage with a man in stove-pipe hat in foreground. Sixth-plate ambrotypes include a dog and a horse and carriage. One tintype occupational study (1/6 pl.) shows four men wearing aprons and holding hammers and mallets. The Maull & Polyblank portrait is of Major General Walter Browne C.B. He is shown wearing the badge of a companion of the Order of the Bath and a campaign medal for Scinde.
