Lot Essay

Including an album devoted to Spain with twelve large views and reproductions of bull-fighting paintings by Laurent; an album with a hand-decorated title page and views in Britain; another with almost every view annotated in pencil with the date of the owner's visit; 'Torquay', with eleven views in and around the town and harbour; an album titled 'Roma' and others with Italian views including thirty-seven of Venice, art reproductions and a few Italian costume portraits; the South of France including panoramas of Monte Carlo and Genoa; Switzerland including a Lucerne street scene showing Meyer's Diorama; and an album with several South African views and Zulu portraits.
