Album containing 133 printing-out-paper prints, sizes from 4 x 3 in. to 5 x 6½ in. or the reverse, occasional numbers in the negatives, variously mounted, occasional titles in pencil on mounts, tissue guards (creased and foxed), carte-de-visite portrait of 'Ludwig Beckmann' in uniform mounted inside front cover, black lacquer boards, mother-of-pearl onlay depicting a dragon (pieces lacking) on front cover and gilt onlay depicting a plant and butterfly on back cover, g.e., oblong 4to.

Images of cannons, several of ships at sea including three images of a ship sinking, group portraits of villagers, several with westerners amongst the groups, a market scene, street scenes, national monuments and an image of a military parade.
