Two albums including one concertina album, containing a total of ninety-four gelatin silver prints, sizes from 3½ x 4½ in. to 4 x 5½ in. or the reverse, the majority titled in ink on mounts, the former with red lacquer boards, ivory and gilt onlay depicting two Japanese girls playing a game in a landscape, the latter with leather covers, titled Outward and Homeward Bound and with a drawing of an Indian in ink on front cover, bound with string and leather (loose), sm. oblong 4to. Lot Essay

Including several images of the crew and passengers on board the RMS Empress of Japan, a view of the ship in Vancouver harbour and the Hong Kong Dry Dock; westerners being pulled in rickshaws; Chinese temples, views around Kowloon City; street scenes and three images of the Russian cruiser 'Veriag' sinking.
