A Large Caucasian Kindjal

With broad double-edged blade slightly curved towards the point, cut with a deep fuller over most of its length on each side and decorated with a gold-damascened panel containing Arabic inscriptions on each side at the forte including an invocation to 'Ali Dhu'l-figar (of the two-bladed sword) in the year 1154 A.H./1740 A.D., and waisted walrus-ivory hilt carved with foliage on the outside and retained by two gold-damascened studs and washers (worn), in wood-lined gilt white metal scabbard decorated overall with filigree
