The first fitted with double-edged blade reinforced towards the point, the forte with a recessed panel chiselled with a lion attacking a crocodile on one side and a stag on the other, the iron hilt entirely gilt and engraved with flowering foliage, the baluster handles en suite, a panel pierced with foliage between; the second with double-edged blade reinforced towards the point, the forte with recessed panel on each side cut with three converging ridges, the iron hilt damascened in gold with panels of foliage, the linked baluster handles damascened in gold with geometric designs, in later velvet-covered wooden scabbard
