With fine curved watered single-edged blade double-edged towards the point and chiselled with a vase and arabesques on each side, the former each inlaid in gold with an Arabic inscription (one 'Praise to Allah', with the date 1230.A.H./1786 A.D., and the other 'The work of Ali Akbar...?'), the latter extending to form a medial ridge on each side towards the point, the forte decorated on each side with a panel of encrusted gold foliage, and with reinforced back-edge chiselled with shaped panels inlaid in gold with Persian verses and arabesques, and beaked hilt of mutton-fat jade carved with conventional lotus designs (finial missing), in original black shagreen-covered wooden scabbard
