With long slender blade of hollow-ground diamond section, iron hilt of Mortuary type comprising shallow cup supporting a ring-guard linked by scrolls, the former pierced and chiselled with conventional foliage, bearded male masks and bearded cherubs' heads, straight quillons with vertically recurved ends formed as leaves, knuckle-guard and ovoidal pommel each incised with foliage, and later wooden grip (lightly pitted throughout)
