The head of similar form to the last, the blade etched on each face with a panel containing a horseman in late 16th Century costume based on woodcuts by Virgil Solis, one brandishing a pistol, framed in foliated scrollwork against a dotted ground, the faces of the socket etched with bands of similar foliage, with later iron toggle and wooden staff, the latter covered with a trellis of leather thongs secured by domed nails
