Perhaps German, 15th/16th Century
With large crescent-shaped blade deeply cusped at the back and struck on one face with the mark of a cross in a circle, prolonged at the back as a tongue riveted between two strips of iron welded together at the top into a sharp backturned spike and prolonged at the bottom as an open socket with two long side-straps, on later wooden staff
