A German Or Swiss Halberd
Early 16th Century
With stout spike of stiff diamond section, axe-blade pierced with circular holes and with straight cutting-edge and cusped sides, triangular fluke struck on one side with a maker's mark, tapering open socket, four waved side-straps, two made separately, and wooden staff with copper armoury tag numbered 'H 40'
