An Eighteenth-Century style two-piece outfit, the coat of black moiré appliquéd with black velvet in a pattern of scrolling leaves and encrusted with imitation jet beads, sequins, embroidery and diamanté at the front and on the pocket flaps and cuffs, fastening at the front with diamanté buttons, the cuffs additionally trimmed with cream lace and the jacket with a matching imitation jabot, the corresponding breeches of black satin -- designed by Helen Rose for Lana Turner in the 1952 M.G.M. film The Bad and the Beautiful; and corresponding vintage still -- 8x10in.
