Please note that the present picture is an autograph work by Luca Giordano, dateable to around 1680-85, and very close to the group of sketches produced by the artist for the dome of the Corsini Chapel in Florence. The group of figures in the sketch seems to have been used with minor variants in the section of the Corsini Chapel dome which appears at the top left of the photograph published by O. Ferrari - G. Scavizzi, Luca Giordano, L'opera completa, Naples, 1992, II, fig.402, p.627. Giordano produced at least two preparatory pictures for the Corsini Chapel, but he combined them in a different way in the final version on fresco.
