Lot Essay

The subject of many of Minartz's evocative compositions were often scenes of people enjoying the nightlife of Paris in the cafes, music halls, cabarets, and fairgrounds. Minartz exhibited at the Salon from 1896-1914, and in 1901 he was made an Associate of the Socit Nationale des Beaux-Arts.
