3 volumes, large 2o (606 x 440 mm). Frontispiece and title vignette in each volume and 111 of 118 plates by Louis Hughe after drawings by David Roberts, the plates mounted on card, all finely colored and finished by hand, on linen guards throughout, engraved map in Vol. II. (Lacking 7 plates; some plates slightly cockled, as usual, a few creased, some very light spotting to a few plates, occasional minor marginal finger soiling and very faint browning, mostly to plate mounts). Contemporary red morocco gilt, covers with broad gilt panel border composed of various gilt roll-tools, spine in seven compartments with six raised bands, two compartments with gilt-lettered morocco lettering pieces, a repeated gilt floral and foliate pattern in the rest, board edges and turn-ins gilt, gilt edges (lower edges worn, some fading and wear to spine ends and joints, some wear to corners, a few minor scratches to covers, back cover of Vol. III scraped).
