AN OSTROGOTHIC SILVER EAGLE-HEADED BUCKLE

Each end of the kidney-shaped loop terminating in stylized animal heads, the eyes and each end with collar-set cabochon glass, scrolling along the length, each side of the massive hooked tongue set with glass, both elements hinged to the rectangular plate, a projecting eagle-head opposite, the eye and each side of the plate set with cabochon glass, a large oval glass in the center, the surface with rows of scrolling and other geometric ornament, originally riveted to a leather belt, part of which is still preserved
