A Liege mulberry, walnut and marquetry bureau
Second quarter 18th Century
Cross-banded overall and inlaid with shaped panels, the sliding top inlaid with stars, surmounted by an inverted break-front stepped superstructure with a waisted drawer above a central door, enclosing three small drawers, flanked to either side by four drawers, the fitted interior with five drawers, the writing surface inlaid with squares, above a long drawer, on five square tapering legs with waisted ebonised capitals and moulded bases, joined by a shaped X-shaped stretcher, on later ebonised toupie feet, one drawer of the interior lacking, restorations
