According to information by the present owner the present lot depicts
a scene during WW.II, 1944 with a gathering of members of the Dutch Resistance in the Dordtse Biesbosch near "De Kop van 't Land".
The burlap support that the artist used for the present lot may be taken from one of the food-droppings by the Allied Forces.
One of the sitters may be identified as B.J. van den Boogaard, with whom the present owner acquired this painting.
