A sampler by Mary Dixon 1845 embroidered in silks in shades of brown, green and ivory with a verse "You whose fond wishes do to Heaven aspire", the lower portion worked with various spot motifs including angels, figures, flowers and birds, within a stylised floral border--16 x 17in. (41 x 44cm.), some holing; another by Ann Cross 1844 inked in, with a cental portrait of a woman and child--18 x 21in. (46 x 54cm.), damaged; and another worked in cross stich by F. Bastard 1860--17 x 17in. (43 x 44cm.), French, all framed and glazed (3)
