Inverted pyriform on a stepped circular base, the lower body flat-chased with alternating acanthus leaves and flowers, one side engraved with a fireman's attributes, the other with a fire-carriage, the front flat-chased with a floral wreath enclosing an inscription, with upswept handle, marked under base

The inscription reads: "Presented by the members attached to Hope Fire Engine Co. No. 31. to Jesse Brush, their late highly and much esteemed foreman as A Tribute of Respect Committee in Behalf of the Company, Wm. Sands. John E. Ross Junr. Frederick A. Ridabock Junr. Archibald Noble. July 4th 1838."
