Enamelled in vivid famille rose colors with the arms possibly of Verheull of Doetinchem beneath a coronet and against an array of spears, cannon and banners, the rim with gilt floral and fruit sprays between landscape panels

C.J.A. Jorg, op. cit., p. 306 notes that the traditional attribution of this service's commission to Christiaan Anthonie Verheull (1760-1832) is not supported by its style or by some of the particulars of its arms, and suggests that it may in fact have been ordered by another family.
